A Personal Reflection
This work is deeply personal.
Growing up in Kenya, I was once that girl with dreams shaped by circumstance and faith. I witnessed the pain of families who lost loved ones simply because they could not afford medical care. I volunteered alongside organizations serving women and girls facing abuse, poverty, and neglect, and I saw how compassion and support could change the trajectory of a life.
Today, living in a different country, I recognize that while the details may change, the root challenges remain. Poverty, lack of access, and vulnerability continue to shape lives in different forms. Yet so does resilience. So does hope.
